What do you think of the pacing in the live-action Avatar vs the show?

I just watched the new live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I’m honestly torn. It looks incredible, but something about the pacing and the way they condensed the first season’s character development feels off compared to the original animated series. Does anyone else feel like these remakes sometimes rush through the heart of the story just to hit the major plot points?

Avatar looked stunning and I kept waiting for the small character moments that hooked me in the original and it felt rushed.

I tried counting the beats they gave to each major arc and it moved faster than the animated version and some quiet scenes vanished.

Is the real issue the pacing or is the core problem that the cast never has room to breathe in this format?

On a long commute I re watched the first act and the backstory feels thinner and it was hard to connect in the same way.
