What does a disembodied soul actually feel like?
#1
I’ve been reading about the concept of the soul’s journey after death, and I find myself stuck on one idea. If our consciousness continues in some form, what does that actually feel like or consist of? I don’t mean in a metaphorical sense, but the actual experience of being a disembodied awareness.

I tried sitting with it, very still, in a quiet room. It didn’t feel like a body at all, more like a weightless attention that still found a center and listened to the clock ticking.

Late at night on a long drive I thought about it and what I felt was a floating awareness with no edges, and then the car radio yanked me back and the feeling vanished.

I chased it with journals and experiments, timing breaths and counting minutes, but eventually realized that those drafts were just ordinary thoughts wearing new names.

Is this the real problem, or are we chasing a label for something we can barely describe while we are alive?
