What does an anteverted uterus mean for side pain during my period?
#1
I’ve been told I have an anteverted uterus after my last pelvic ultrasound, but my doctor just mentioned it in passing. I’m wondering if this tilt could be the reason I often feel a sharp, localized pain on one side during my period, even though they’ve ruled out endometriosis.

A forward tilt is a common variation and, in my experience, it’s rarely the cause of period pain. Most cramps come from uterine contractions and prostaglandins, not the angle.

I kept a simple pain diary for a couple of cycles and noted a sharp pinch on one side that showed up on the heaviest days. I tried heat and NSAIDs, and the heating pad helped a bit, but the pattern stayed inconsistent. Endo was ruled out, but the pain stuck around.

Sometimes it felt less like a spike in pain and more like the pelvic muscles or the ovaries were involved, especially if I changed position. I didn’t get a clean pattern, so I stopped chasing a single cause.

Is the tilt the real issue or is this just normal cramps that happen to land on one side? I’ve asked the doctor and I’m still unsure, which makes me want to push on with more testing or a different approach.
