What helps me stop snoozing and keep a 5:30 AM wake-up routine?

I've been trying to get up at 5:30 AM for weeks to get a head start on my day, but I just keep hitting snooze. My morning feels rushed and chaotic instead of the calm, productive block I envisioned. I'm curious if anyone has actually made this early wake-up a consistent part of their routine and how you handled that initial grogginess.

I actually did manage it for about a month last year. The trick wasn’t willpower but making the first five minutes so easy I couldn’t veto them. I moved my alarm to the far side of the room, left a small lamp on, and promised myself I’d just sit up and breathe for one minute. After those few mornings, the grogginess faded a bit and the day started calmer, not chaotic.

I tried 5:30 for a week and it felt brutal. I kept hitting snooze in waves, then caffeinating like crazy, and eventually I just gave up and let myself sleep later. I’m not sure if the early wake is the win or if I needed a different routine altogether.

What time do you usually go to bed on weeknights? I wonder if the bedtime might be the blocker more than the alarm time.

One morning I woke at 5:28 and caught myself staring at the ceiling, sort of drifting into a daydream about the commute. I stood up, stretched, and watched the light come in. It did feel like a small win, but I don’t know if it scales.
