What hidden path did I miss in The Last Stand of the Salt-Worn Knights ending?

I just finished The Last Stand of the Salt-Worn Knights and I'm left with this weird feeling that the ending I got wasn't the real one. I saw the credits, but a few cryptic lines from the final character and some locked doors in the earlier fortress make me think I missed a huge, hidden path. Has anyone else felt like they only saw half the story?

I finished it and it left a strange ache like a film ending you keep replaying The credits rolled and a couple cryptic lines from the last character stuck with me plus those doors in the fortress I keep imagining what might be behind them

I did a quick reread and kept circling back to the fortress scenes I think I noticed a tiny inconsistency in one paragraph and I wonder if there is a hidden scene in a later edition or an online note that never lands in the main text

I am not sure but I want to believe the author meant it to be slippery not a single truth I tried to map the final lines to earlier promises in the story but the path never lines up cleanly and I keep feeling there is more but I cant pin it
