What morning routine helps me stop snoozing at 5:30 am and stay energized?

I've been trying to get up at 5:30 AM for weeks to get a head start on my day, but I just keep hitting snooze until my old wake-up time. My morning energy drink ritual feels like the only thing that gets me to my desk, but then I crash hard by mid-morning. I’m not sure if I’m forcing something that doesn’t fit or if I just haven’t found the right routine to make it stick.

I used to hit snooze for hours too. I moved the alarm across the room and bought a lamp that only turns on when the alarm rings. That forced me to stand up, groggy or not. I kept the energy drink as a small ritual but tried to cut it back and use being at my desk as the cue instead.

Mid morning crash felt real for me too. I swapped the strong energy drink for a light coffee and a big glass of water after breakfast. I tried to hydrate more and ease into caffeine, but it took weeks to feel steadier. It helped a bit but the early wake still feels off some days.

Do you think the real issue is how you wind down at night and not the morning time itself?

One night I started cooking a simple breakfast the moment I got up to have a reason to walk into the kitchen. It did not fix the alarm right away and I got distracted by chores, but after a few mornings I began to link waking with a small pleasure and that helped a little.
