What settings help reduce latency between smart lights and voice assistant?
#1
I’ve been trying to get my smart lights to work with my voice assistant for basic routines, but the latency is just bad enough to be frustrating. It feels like I’m always waiting a second or two for the command to register, which defeats the whole purpose of a seamless smart home. Has anyone else dealt with this delay and found a specific setting or hub that made things more responsive?

I had a similar frustration. I added a dedicated smart home hub and moved the lights to local control through the hub, and the on off actions started feeling nearly instant. Routines with a couple steps still kept a decent pace.

I also tried changing the router setup, cutting back interference, and giving the hub higher priority, but the improvements were inconsistent and usually small.

Do you notice the delay with every command, or only with certain scenes?

I drifted into testing in a different room and with fewer devices, and it reminded me not to assume the problem is the light hub alone.
