What should i do if the real-time bus tracker keeps disappearing on the map?

I’m trying to figure out if my local transit agency’s new real-time bus tracking is actually reliable. The app says the next bus is 8 minutes away, but twice this week it suddenly disappeared from the map and I ended up waiting over twenty.

I've seen that too. The app says 8 minutes and then updates stop. The map sometimes drops when GPS signal slips in tunnels or between tall buildings.

One time I waited 25 minutes because the tracker froze and the bus had already passed a couple of blocks. I watched the real-time bus tracking drift and then suddenly snap back.

Do you think the problem is the GPS feed, or is the route itself just getting held up?

I tried timing it once, and the estimate and the actual wait were never close. It felt random more than anything.
