What should i try when my second monitor stays black after a driver update?
#1
I just tried to update my graphics driver to the latest version and now my second monitor won’t wake up from sleep. The main display works fine, but the secondary one just stays black no matter what I try, even though Windows detects it in the display settings. I’m not sure if I should roll back the driver or if there’s a specific setting that got changed during the installation process.

I had the same after a software update. The second screen stayed dark, but Windows could see it. Rolling back to the previous version brought it back for me, not sure if that was real fix or just luck.

I swapped the display cable to another port and power cycled both monitors. The main monitor woke fine, the second remained stubborn, which made me think it was a handshake issue.

Do you think the real problem is the wake signal from the GPU, or is the monitor's sleep behavior to blame?

I tried uninstalling the update and letting Windows reinstall on reboot, but the second screen stayed off. Felt messy and I stopped chasing it for now.
