What side effects could a metallic taste indicate from meds?
#1
I’ve been taking my new prescription for a few weeks now, but I’m noticing a strange, persistent metallic taste in my mouth that I didn’t have before. I’m wondering if this is a known side effect of the medication or if it might be something else entirely.

A friend who works in a pharmacy said this can be a known side effect with some medicines but it can also come from dental work or a sinus issue They suggested checking if anything else changed like a new mouthwash or vitamins

I did not get that effect but a coworker swore up and down that the taste grew stronger at night They tried chewing gum and rinsing and it helped a little but not enough to fix it

Have you talked to your doctor about it?
