What source should i trust for bus arrival times?

I’m trying to plan my commute and I’m stuck because the real-time arrival data on my transit app is showing my bus is five minutes away, but the physical countdown sign at the stop says it’s arriving in one minute. Which one do I trust when this happens? I’ve missed buses before by relying on the wrong source.

The stop sign almost always wins for me. It updates right there and the app can lag.
