When will I stop delaying starting my goals and how can I fix it?

I’ve been feeling really stuck lately because I keep waiting for the perfect moment to start working on my goals, but it never seems to arrive. I’ll tell myself I’ll begin my fitness routine next Monday, or start that online course once work calms down, but then something always comes up. This habit of perpetual delay is making me feel like I’m just watching my own life pass by.

I hear you. I used to wait for Monday too. I finally started with ten minutes of activity after work, just tying my sneakers and stepping outside for a quick walk. It wasn’t perfect, but it moved the threshold a bit and the next day I did a little more.

Maybe the problem isn’t the moment at all but the story we tell ourselves about it. What if the real barrier is the belief that one perfect moment exists?

Another time I pushed back against delay by writing one small goal on a sticky note and leaving it on my desk. I forgot about it most days, but a few days I checked it and did something tiny anyway.

I get the frustration; I paused a course for weeks because I felt overwhelmed at work, then realized I hadn’t actually defined what would count as done for the week. That ambiguity was louder than any calendar.
