Why are my CBBE 3BA textures stretched after Bodyslide and load order?
#1
I’ve been trying to get a custom armor set to work with CBBE 3BA, but no matter how I install it, the textures are always a shiny, stretched mess in-game. I followed the mod page instructions to the letter, ran everything through Bodyslide, and made sure my load order was right, but I’m still hitting this visual glitch. Has anyone else run into this specific body and texture mismatch?

Yep, I hit this too after switching to CBBE 3BA. The armor loads, but in game the textures look shiny and stretched no matter what I did in Bodyslide. I double checked the mesh-to-texture paths and even swapped the texture folder, but the glitch stuck around.

I spent hours reinstalling everything, cleaning the mod cache, and rebuilding the preset. Sometimes it would vanish for a session, but then come back worse later.

Feels like it might be the texture set not matching the body. If a gloss or spec map is off or the normal map is mislinked, you get that stretched look on some outfits even with proper sliders.

I gave up on that one and used a different armor that lists clear compatibility. Texture behaved normally then, so the problem seemed to be compatibility rather than Bodyslide.

Do you want to test swapping to vanilla body textures on that armor to see if the stretch goes away? If it does, the issue is with the skin texture rather than the armor mesh.

One time I drifted into tweaking lighting and realized the issue was a leftover gloss texture from a previous version. It was nothing to do with Bodyslide, but it reminded me to check every texture file.
