Why are these silent stare videos with text popping up everywhere?

I keep seeing this weirdly specific video format where someone is just silently staring at the camera while text pops up with a mundane complaint. It’s like a visual sigh, and I don’t get why it’s suddenly everywhere. Is it supposed to be funny, or is it just a new way to be passively annoyed together?

Yeah those silent stare clips with a caption feel like a tiny mood swing you watch for six seconds and then forget.

I think it’s not about the joke so much as the vibe—saying I’m annoyed together, even if it’s petty, and somehow that counts as connection.

I tried making one once to see what happens. A couple of friends laughed, a few dismissed it, and the metrics looked weird for a day but then went back to normal.

Do you think the point is relatability or is there something else at work here?
