I just finished watching the new season of *Frieren* and I’m left with this weird, hollow feeling I can’t quite name. It’s not that the ending was bad, but the way it sat with the quiet weight of all those passed years and missed connections just hit me differently than any other fantasy anime. I don’t think a show has ever made me contemplate my own relationships through its lens of immortal time before.

That ending with Frieren sat with me the way you feel a long train ride you forgot you’re on, and suddenly years pile up behind you.

I tried to name it, but it’s more a felt sense than a fact—time between episodes stretches, and you start thinking about people you drifted away from.

I paused after the credits and sent a messy group chat message to a friend, then went quiet and listened to the room.

Is the real ache about the pace of time, or about whether we can hold onto the people who matter when the clock keeps moving?
