Why did my sinus infection come back after antibiotics?
#1
I’ve been on a standard antibiotic course for a bacterial sinus infection, but my fever and the facial pain around my sinuses came back a few days after I finished the pills. Has anyone else had this happen? I’m worried the initial treatment didn’t fully clear it and now I might be dealing with something more persistent.

That happened to me once after finishing a round too. A few days of feeling mostly better, then the same facial pressure came back. I ended up seeing someone who said it might be a lingering sinus flare and they tweaked the plan. It was frustrating and felt confusing.

Could this just be allergies acting up or a different issue altogether?

I kept a little notes log for a week—fever, which side hurt, and when it got worse—and it didn’t always line up with taking pills. The pain would spike and then ease, which made me doubt the timing.

Sometimes I drifted and thought maybe the real problem was something else like a blocked passage or a flare from a cold, and then circled back to the idea that symptoms can bounce back even after an apparent finish.
