Why did The Fall Guy underperform despite strong buzz and star power?

I just saw the final domestic total for *The Fall Guy* and it’s way below the opening weekend projections. I was so sure the star power and reviews would give it stronger legs, but the weekly drops were pretty steep. What gives with that disconnect between the buzz and the actual theatrical run?

I felt the same. The online buzz tends to come from a small loud fragment, but the casual moviegoers didn’t translate that into weekend crowds.

Weekday schedules, competing releases, and the reality that a lot of people only see one big movie a month can kill the carryover.

I actually went to a screening this week for The Fall Guy and noticed seats still available after the opening buzz faded. I walked in on a Tuesday and the vibe was kind of flat.

Is the real problem maybe the marketing didn't promise enough, or am I missing something about the target audience?
