Why does my new phone battery drain so fast, is there a setting to tweak?

My new phone’s battery seems to drain way too fast, even when I’m just browsing. I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks, so I’m wondering if this is normal for a new device or if I should be looking at a specific setting that’s causing the issue.

Yep I had a similar thing with a new phone. For the first week it felt like the charge drained faster because the system was indexing, restoring apps, and updating in the background.

If the battery is dropping fast, try checking the usage in settings to see which app is a big offender.

Have you checked if the screen brightness is too high?

I drifted for a bit, thinking it was hardware, but after a few days the drain didn't kill me as much and I kept an eye on what apps were doing.
