Why does my online voice feel more combative, and how can I dial it back?
#1
I've noticed that my online comments have gotten a lot more reactive lately, almost like I'm trying to win an argument instead of having a conversation. It feels like the tone of the platform itself is pushing me to be more combative, and I'm not sure when that shift happened or how to step back from it.

Yep, I’ve felt that shift too. The platform seems to reward short, sharp takes, and I catch myself swinging into debate mode even when I want a real conversation.

I turned off push alerts for new comments and tried to wait 5 minutes before replying. It helped a bit, but I still catch the reflex.

Am I barking up the wrong tree? I keep thinking the problem is me, but maybe the feed design nudges you toward argument.

The other day I wandered away from a heated thread and scrolled through a few unrelated posts, then realized my mood shifted. Maybe stepping away is the tool I need.
