Why does the epic games launcher keep freezing when browsing my library?

I’ve been using the Epic Games Store for a while now, but I’m starting to get annoyed by how often the client freezes or crashes when I’m just trying to browse my library or update a game. It feels like it happens at least once a week, and I have to force quit it. Has anyone else run into this kind of instability with their launcher, or is it something on my end?

Yep, I'm in the same boat with the Epic Games Store. It freezes at least once a week for me, usually when I’m browsing the library or trying to update a game. The window grinds to a halt and I end up forced quitting and restarting it.

I’ve done the cache clear and even a reinstall a few times. Sometimes it buys me a day or two, then the freezes come back.

Maybe it isn’t the launcher at all. Could be antivirus scans or Windows background checks kicking in during heavy checks for updates. When I paused a lot of background stuff, the freezes didn’t vanish but they never fully disappeared either.

I tried rolling back drivers, changed power settings, and still got hiccups. At this point I sort of ignore the updates during a session and just close it when it stalls, which is not great but it buys me time.
