Why does this weird sound keep showing up in TikTok stitches and game streams?

Has anyone else noticed that weird, specific sound effect popping up everywhere lately? I heard it in three different TikTok stitches yesterday, and now I can't un-hear it in the background of random gaming streams.

Yeah I noticed it too yesterday. It showed up in three TikTok stitches and then in a couple streams afterward. It sounds like a tiny pop, almost like a notification ping, but not from my own device. I double checked the app sounds and nothing new was added.

I figured I had headphones acting up, swapped to wireless, then back to wired, checked driver updates, muted apps one by one, nothing changed. It just sits there in the background like a stray sound effect.

Part of me wonders if my brain decided to latch onto a trend and started amplifying a tiny sound in random clips. I still hear it after turning off feeds and in random game streams, which is annoying but not a mystery I can solve easily.
