Why is my deep sleep consistently low with my wearable, and what can I do?

I’ve been tracking my sleep with a wearable for months, and my deep sleep score is consistently low no matter how early I go to bed. I’m not sure if I should just accept this as my normal pattern or if there’s something specific I’m missing that’s preventing me from getting enough restorative sleep.

Yeah I’ve been in the same boat. Deep sleep score stays low even when I start trying earlier bedtimes. I tried cutting caffeine after lunch and doing a brisk evening walk, but the number barely budged. I began to treat the score as noisy data from the device and looked more at how I felt during the day, plus total sleep time and consistency.

Mine changed a bit after I nailed the sleep environment: cooler room, blackout curtains, same wake time every day. Still low deep sleep though, which made me doubt the accuracy of the tracker. I kept a simple log for a month and noticed the restfulness in mornings didn't track the deep sleep score.

Have you checked for signs of sleep apnea or other breathing issues? I know that can depress deep sleep numbers and you might not feel it in the moment, but it’s something to consider if you snore or wake up gasping.

I’m not sure we’re even measuring the real thing. Sometimes the score nudges up when stress is lower, but other times it sits flat. I’ve started focusing on total sleep and daytime energy, wondering if the device is catching restoration at all instead of the actual feel of rest.
