Why is my morning blood pressure higher and what readings should i log?

I’ve been trying to get a better handle on my blood pressure readings at home, but I’m confused about the right way to do it. My doctor said to check it in the morning before my medication, but sometimes I forget and do it later, and the numbers are all over the place. I’m not sure which readings I should actually be tracking in my log to show at my next appointment.
