Why is my pottery tutorial audience plateauing and how can I grow it?
#1
I’ve been trying to build a consistent audience for my pottery tutorials, but I’m hitting a wall where my growth just plateaus after every few videos. It feels like my content strategy is missing a key piece that turns casual viewers into a real community.

Been there. After a handful of tutorials I thought a steady schedule and consistent thumbnails would unlock growth and the numbers still drifted back to the same plane every few weeks. I ran a Q and A live session and launched a monthly challenge where folks could share their pots hoping that would turn casual viewers into a crew. It nudged engagement a bit but the subscriber pace stayed stubbornly flat. It started to feel like the gap was not just more content but turning viewers into people who come back.

I experimented with a mini series called Pottery 101, bite size clips and a poll to pick the next project. The week it landed engagement climbed and a handful of folks stuck around, but a few weeks later the growth rate sagged again. I kept trying the same formula and kept hitting the same ceiling.

Maybe the problem is not the videos at all. Could be that I am not reaching the right people or that the niche is too broad. If I had to pick one thing maybe narrowing to a specific angle like glaze experiments or wheel throwing for small spaces would help. Do you think the real issue is who you are attracting not what you are showing?

One afternoon I drifted into a tangent about lighting and the sound of the wheel and then when I came back to the main video I noticed viewers dropped off at the same moment. Not a clean insight but it felt like my own attention span was leaking away. I still post but I am not sure what is supposed to flip the switch
