Should I go with 1440p or 4k for gaming with my 4070 Super?

I love the idea of baking but my results are always hit or miss. What are the most important baking tips you wish someone had told you when you started?

I'm especially interested in dessert recipes that are forgiving for beginners, and any advice about gluten-free recipes since my sister can't have gluten. Also, what are your favorite comfort food recipes for baking? The kind that makes your whole house smell amazing.

The baking tip that changed everything for me was measuring flour properly. I used to scoop directly from the bag and pack it in, which led to dense baked goods. Now I spoon flour into the measuring cup and level it off. Such a simple thing but it makes a huge difference.

For beginner dessert recipes, I recommend starting with bar cookies or muffins. They're more forgiving than cookies that need to be scooped perfectly.

My most important baking tip is to have all your ingredients at room temperature unless the recipe specifies otherwise. Cold eggs or butter can ruin the texture of cakes and cookies. I take everything out about an hour before I plan to bake.

For gluten-free recipes, I've had good luck with almond flour and oat flour blends. They have better flavor than some of the pre-mixed gluten-free flours.

The baking tip I wish I'd known earlier is to not overmix. Once you add flour, mix just until combined. Overmixing develops gluten and makes things tough. For muffins and quick breads, it's okay if there are a few flour streaks.

For comfort food recipes in baking, nothing beats a simple apple crisp. Slice apples, toss with sugar and cinnamon, top with an oat flour crumble (works great gluten-free), and bake. The house smells amazing.

Invest in an oven thermometer! My baking improved dramatically when I realized my oven was running 25 degrees hot. Now I adjust accordingly and everything bakes more evenly.

For gluten-free recipes, I recommend starting with naturally gluten-free desserts like flourless chocolate cake, meringues, or pavlova. They're impressive but don't require special flour blends.

My essential baking tip is to read the entire recipe before you start. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten halfway through only to realize I need to chill dough for 2 hours or something.

For beginner dessert recipes, brownies are very forgiving. Even if you overmix or underbake slightly, they're still delicious. And you can add nuts, chocolate chips, or swirl in peanut butter.

I’m trying to decide between a 1440p and a 4K monitor for my new setup, and I’m worried my GPU won’t handle the higher resolution well in newer games. My 4070 Super runs everything great on my current 1080p screen, but I’m not sure if pushing more pixels will mean sacrificing smooth frame rates for that sharper image.

I swapped my 1080p setup for a 1440p monitor and it felt much crisper. Then I tried 4K with the same rig and the frame rates dropped in newer games, even with mid to high settings. I wound up staying at 1440p with a high refresh panel because the extra pixels weren’t worth the sacrifice.

Sharp image is nice, but the card isn’t shy about it in 4K titles. If you want to keep high settings at 4K, you either trade settings or upgrade. DLSS helps in some games, but it isn’t available everywhere.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s really the GPU or memory bandwidth. I turned down shadows and textures in one game and got a noticeable jump, but then it looked worse in another. It’s not a clean answer.

If you care about competitive play, 1440p with a fast panel feels way snappier day to day than chasing every extra pixel. The difference in target frame rates is real, even if the image isn’t as sharp.

Are you aiming for true 4K or just a crisper image with upscaling? That question helped me realize I care more about consistency than the pure pixel count.

Drifting a bit here, I started tweaking color profiles and gamma and somehow ended up chasing comfort more than specs. Eventually I kept the setup simple, but I still question whether the bigger screen is solving the problem or just changing it.
