How accurate are real-time bus arrival displays lately?
#1
I’ve been using my city’s new real-time passenger information displays at the bus stop, and honestly, I’m starting to doubt how accurate they are. The screen said my bus was arriving in 2 minutes, but it actually showed up almost ten minutes later, which made me miss my connection. Has anyone else noticed these signs being consistently off lately?

Yep, I’ve noticed it too. The screen says two minutes, and then the bus rolls in ten minutes later. Been late to a few connections this week because of it.

I actually tried timing a couple of trips last month. ETA would drift down to a minute, then jump back, and the bus still showed up late. It felt more like the feed lagging than the bus being on time.

Could be a mix. GPS can drop in tunnels or between tall buildings, so the system reverts to last known data or averages. It may update after the bus is already underway, which makes the ETA look wrong.

Do you think it’s the system or the driver?
