How can I actually stick to a 5:30 wake-up without snooze?
#1
I’ve been trying to get up at 5:30 AM to have a quiet hour for myself before the family wakes up, but I keep hitting snooze until 6:15. My willpower just evaporates when the alarm goes off in the dark. Has anyone actually made this early shift stick, and how did you handle that initial grogginess?

I tried getting up at five thirty for weeks and kept hitting snooze. I moved my alarm across the room so I had to stand. I laid out a robe and made coffee ready the night before. Grogginess stuck around the first week, but after two weeks I started to feel steadier and got less annoyed at myself for going back to bed.

Maybe the real problem is not the early wake up but the night before. If you crash early and wake up foggy you probably need a longer wind down and a consistent bedtime. It sounded right to me but I am not sure.

I tried a small table lamp that stayed dim at first and then brightened. The first days the room felt too dark and I dreaded waking. After a few days the growing light helped me blink awake, even if I still wanted to linger.

One week I set a tiny goal and it barely held. I told myself to sit up and drink water, but I kept searching for excuses and went back to bed after a minute or two. It felt messy and I dropped the plan for a while.
