How can I balance asthma control with bone thinning from inhaled steroids?
#1
I’ve been on a high-dose inhaled corticosteroid for my severe asthma for about a year now, and my last chest X-ray showed some early signs of bone thinning in my ribs. My pulmonologist mentioned this could be a long-term side effect of the medication, but we can’t really lower the dose without my symptoms flaring badly. Has anyone else experienced this specific trade-off between managing their airway inflammation and dealing with the systemic effects?
