How can i build a cohesive audience with a strong content pillar for art videos?

I’ve been trying to build a consistent audience for my educational art videos, but I’m hitting a wall with my content pillar strategy. I picked one broad topic to anchor everything, but my actual uploads keep feeling scattered and I’m not sure if the core theme is even connecting with anyone.

I've been there. I picked a big topic and my uploads felt random. Some weeks I posted a quick speed-drawing, other weeks a deep-dive, and it never felt like there was a single thread tying it all together.

I tried making a simple arc in a few videos—one idea, a few examples, then a wrap-up— and kept a little notebook of what viewers actually clicked. The gains were small, but it helped me notice patterns, not miracles.

Are you sure the problem is the pillar or maybe the core theme isn't what your audience actually wants?

I did a week-long single-topic sprint once, focusing on one technique. It was quiet, comments sparse, but the few who watched seemed to stay with it. Then I slipped back into the scatter.
