How can I enjoy Instagram again without the constant performance pressure?
#1
I've noticed my Instagram feed has become nothing but people trying to sell me things or show me their "perfect" lives, and I'm honestly starting to feel pretty drained by it. I log in now and just scroll mindlessly without any real connection, and I'm wondering if anyone else has hit this wall with the constant performance aspect of these platforms.

Yeah, I get this. My feed started feeling like a constant sales pitch and highlight reel. I log in and it’s just people chasing perfect lives, and it drains me fast.

I tried muting a bunch of accounts and unfollowing stuff that felt salesy. It helped for a while, then the same patterns crept back. Still scrolling though, just less loud.

Do you think the problem is the platform itself or our own dopamine loop, honestly? I keep wondering if the setup pushes us to chase validation more than anything.

I once took a full day break, did something real with friends, and when I came back the feed felt quieter for a bit. Then it ramped up again. Not sure if that buys you time or changes the dynamic.
