I’ve been trying to get my new PC build to stop stuttering in demanding games, and I think the issue might be my RAM timings. I tightened them up based on a guide, but now I’m getting occasional crashes that didn’t happen before. I’m not sure if I went too far or if something else is unstable because of it.

I tightened my RAM timings once and it felt snappier in menus but in a couple of demanding scenes it stuttered and finally crashed. I backed off and kept the settings at rated specs and did a light stability check afterward that looked fine.

I did the same but the crashes kept coming and I started thinking maybe something else got destabilized by the tighter settings rather than the timings themselves.

I drifted away for a bit and watched the case lights and fan curves while thinking about stability. When I came back I tried a memory test and still could not pin down the issue but the game stutter thing persisted.

Could the real problem be something else entirely like drivers or power delivery and not the timings at all?
