How can I fix unreliable geofencing on my smart lock?

I’ve just installed a new smart lock and my phone’s geofencing feature is supposed to unlock the door when I arrive home. It works maybe half the time, and the other half I’m just standing there like an idiot while it thinks. Has anyone else had this kind of inconsistency with location-based triggers?

Yeah, I had a similar thing last month. Geofence would unlock when I was clearly near, but half the time it just sat there and waited.

I tried checking permissions and forcing the app to use precise location, but it still felt flaky; not sure if it's the OS, the app, or the hardware.

Maybe the door sensor or the network is the real blocker, and the phone just acts whenever it can.

Mine ended up getting kept in the pocket and I ended up using a keypad entry; it was annoying but I didn't keep chasing it.
