How can I get smart lights and the thermostat to work together?
#1
I’ve been trying to get my smart lights and smart thermostat to work together properly, but they just don’t seem to talk to each other. My lights turn on a sunset scene at six, but the thermostat is still in its daytime eco mode, so the house feels off. I’m not sure if I need a different hub or if I’m just setting up the automation wrong.

I feel you. The sunset scene goes off and the thermostat still clocks in as daytime eco, like the two devices aren’t speaking the same language. In my case I found the automations were split across two hubs, and nothing lined up unless I forced them into one system and ran a combined routine. It helped a bit but never felt smooth.

I've tried treating them as separate things and it never stuck. When I kept dialing in on the light scene, the thermostat stayed stubbornly in its own mode. It’s frustrating, and I’m not sure that’s the real issue.

I kept a tiny log six pm lights hit sunset but thermostat didn't switch until I noticed and added a second trigger that also changes the thermostat. The mismatch dropped from a few minutes to almost none, but not perfectly reliable.

Do you actually have both devices in the same app or ecosystem, or did you mix two?
