How can i improve aim in mobile fps with gyro controls and touch sensitivity?
#1
I’ve been trying to get better at aiming in FPS mobile games, but my thumbs just feel so clumsy on the screen. Even with gyro controls turned on, I can’t seem to track moving targets smoothly, especially in close-range fights. I’m wondering if it’s just a matter of practice or if my touchscreen sensitivity settings are working against me.

I used to think it was all practice too. I slowed my sensitivity a notch, kept gyro on for rough offsets, but tracking moving targets at close range still felt like I was fighting the screen.

I tried resting the phone on my knee and holding with both hands, thumbs loose, and focusing on keeping the screen steady for a moment between actions. It helped a little but felt unstable in fast pushes.

I spent a couple weeks grinding aim training maps in a couple games, watching my accuracy stay flat. Maybe the issue isn’t practice but how my touch responds when the thumb moves fast.

Do you think the real problem is touchscreen latency rather than your tracking?

I swapped to a light screen protector once; barely changed things, but I did notice a tiny drop in ghost touches after I cleaned the screen and kept it dry.

Another wash of ideas: I lowered the game’s graphics quality to reduce input lag. It helped a bit for mid range targets, but close fights still felt off.

Sometimes I wonder if the whole thing is the game design or the matchmaking pacing rather than my thumbs. I drifted off topic mid-session and came back, but the problem felt the same.
