How can i keep a steady posting schedule for a history channel without burnout?

I’ve been trying to build a consistent posting schedule for my niche history channel, but I keep burning out after a few weeks. The research and scripting for each video is so intensive that I end up either rushing the edit or missing my upload day entirely. How do you all manage the sheer volume of work that goes into each piece of long-form content without sacrificing quality or your sanity?

I tried batching everything on Sundays: research, outlining, and scripting three videos in a row. I set a strict 90 minute cap for drafting each script and kept a simple outline template so I didn’t rewrite from scratch every time. It cut the back-and-forth, but I still felt fried after a couple weeks and the edits would stall.

I built a content calendar and forced myself to publish on a sustainable rhythm. I stopped chasing perfection and kept a minimum viable video length; if the script went long, I trimmed it hard in the edit rather than adding footage. I also asked a friend to grab B roll once a month—tiny win, but it saved hours.

I started to question whether the problem is speed or depth. I pushed for deeper research and felt the weight grow. Now I’m testing a two step approach: get to the core claim first, then add details later if time allows. It helps a little, but I’m not sure it’s enough.

Do you think the real issue is not volume but where the effort goes?
