How can I quiet my gpu fans that keep ramping up after reboot?
#1
I’m trying to get my new build to run as quietly as possible, but my GPU fans keep ramping up aggressively even when I’m just on the desktop. I’ve tried adjusting the fan curve in MSI Afterburner, but it doesn’t seem to stick after a reboot. Has anyone else dealt with this constant, jarring spin-up and found a reliable way to tame it?

I had a similar problem and the GPU fans would spike even on desktop I tried a fixed curve in the tool and saved the profile then rebooted it finally stuck after a couple of tries

I kept an eye on temps and added a startup step to load the profile after login and the idle temp stayed below 50 which made it feel calmer

Are we sure the noise is coming from the GPU fan or could it be the case fans or a mis set power curve

I did a quick test with the case panel off and a little thermometer near the card to see air flow and I learned a lot of spin up came from hot air not the card
