How can I raise my win rate in ranked solo queue with random teammates?
#1
I’ve been grinding ranked solo queue for months, but my win rate just won’t climb. I feel like my individual play is decent, but without a consistent duo or team, I’m stuck dealing with random teammates who don’t communicate. Has anyone else hit this wall in competitive play?

I’ve been there. The wall felt solid for months; my individual mechanics weren’t the issue, it was the randoms. I started keeping a tiny notebook after every game—what I did, what I could have done differently, and whether my decision to stay or back off paid off. The pattern hunting was ugly but it slowly showed me when I overcommitted.

Tried duo queue with a friend, but half the games we still got strangers who didn’t communicate or tilt. It helped a few times, but it proved unreliable as a long term fix. I learned to expect chaos and plan around it instead of waiting for it to disappear.

I swapped to a small champion pool and a simple macro checklist for early game. Fewer variables, more predictable outcomes. The improvement was tiny but real, mostly in better trades and fewer pointless deaths.

Do you think the problem is really the teammates, or is there a blind spot in your own play that only shows up when the game gets noisy?

I tracked one metric for a while: deaths per game under 12 before 20 minutes. When I pulled that off consistently, my win rate nudged up a bit. It wasn’t magical, just a reminder to pick safer fights and not chase everything.

Sometimes I drifted off topic, thinking about what my duo partner would do, and ended up just playing reactively. Then I’d snap back to lane priority and ward positions, and it felt simpler again.
