I’ve noticed my Instagram feed feels completely stale lately, showing me the same few creators and topics on repeat. I follow a pretty wide range of accounts, but it’s like the algorithm has decided it knows exactly what I want and won’t show me anything new. Has anyone else hit a wall with their feed becoming weirdly narrow, and found a way to actually refresh what gets surfaced?

Yep. I started muting stuff I wasn’t interested in and unfollowed a handful of repeats. After a week or two, the feed finally showed me a few new creators and a couple of different topics. It wasn’t instant, but the variety did creep back. The IG algorithm seemed to lock in on the same lanes, so muting and unfollowing forced it to reevaluate.

I tried to force it with the Explore tab and by actively following people outside my usual circle. It felt clumsy at first, and I kept dipping back into the old stuff, but sometimes a new creator would pop in and stick around for a bit.

Do you think the real problem is the follow graph or something else?

I gave up on trying to game it and just paused for a few days, letting things be and not engaging. When I came back, I noticed the order didn't completely flip, but there were small hints of different stuff mixed in. Then I got distracted by a random video and forgot what I was even doing.
