How can i simplify the HUD prompts on my car's head-up display?

I just got a new car with a fancy head-up display, but I find the default navigation prompts really distracting. It feels like there's too much information projected on the windshield, especially during complicated turns. Has anyone else had this experience and figured out how to simplify what it shows?

I get that. I turned off lane guidance and kept only the next turn with a small arrow. It cut a lot of clutter.

In mine there is a minimal color scheme and a dim option. I set the brightness low and hid street names so the view stays calmer.

I tried switching to a simple 2D map instead of 3D and it felt slower to orient at times but less busy overall.

Sometimes I wonder if the real issue is the timing of the prompts or the route itself and not the display. Do we really need a prompt at every turn?
