How can I stabilize Quest 3 passthrough warping in mixed reality games?
#1
I just got a Quest 3 and the passthrough feels kind of jittery and warpy when I move my head, especially in mixed reality games. It makes trying to place virtual objects on my real desk really disorienting. Is this just how it is, or are there settings that can stabilize the view?

Yeah, I had that jittery passthrough too at first. It felt like the world warped while I moved my head. A firmware update helped a little, and keeping the room decently lit made the edges look less wobbly. Still not perfect for fine placement, though.

I re-ran the MR setup from scratch and re-centered the guardian. That helped a notch, but if I whip my head around quickly the virtual desk can slip out of alignment.

Are you sure the issue is the real problem? I started wondering if maybe I’m chasing exact alignment and the system isn’t built for precise placement at that scale; sometimes it’s the brain expecting coords that the hardware can’t lock.

If you want a quick test, try updating the headset, reboot, and do a fresh guardian calibration, then place one object on the desk and move slowly for a minute to see if it stabilizes.
