How can I stop my beard from being dry and itchy all day?

I’ve been trying to figure out how to keep my beard from feeling so dry and itchy all day. Even after I wash it, by mid-afternoon it just feels like straw and the skin underneath gets irritated. I’m not sure if I’m using the wrong products or if I’m missing a step in my routine.

I had the same issue. After washing I patted dry and used a tiny amount of oil while the skin was still damp, then a light moisturizer on the skin underneath. It made the itch calmer and the hairs softer by midday.

Sometimes I think the problem is more about the skin being dry than the hair itself. If the skin is irritated, oil on the hair won't help much.
