How can i tell if i have eustachian tube dysfunction?
#1
I’ve been dealing with a persistent feeling of pressure in my ears for weeks, almost like I’m constantly needing to pop them, but the usual tricks don’t work. My hearing also feels a bit muffled on and off, and I’m wondering if this could be related to a problem with my eustachian tube function.

I know that feeling. I had something similar after a cold, the pressure in my ears wouldn’t quit and every few minutes I felt like I needed to pop them. My hearing would go a bit muffled and it seemed like the Eustachian tube was acting up.

I spent days trying little hacks—swallowing, yawning, and even a warm shower to loosen things. Some days it seemed a hair better, other days not at all. I did try saline spray for a while, which helped me breathe through the nose a bit.

I’m not sure if that’s the whole story though. Maybe it’s wax buildup or a temporary ear infection or even TMJ stuff showing up as pressure. Does this tend to happen after allergies or flying for you?

This went on for weeks and I started worrying. I finally booked a clinic visit; they looked in my ears and mentioned it could be eustachian tube problems or fluid. Not a definitive fix, but it helped me stop guessing.
