Viral celebrity moments can completely change how the public perceives someone, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse. I’m trying to figure out if my home charging setup is actually ready for a cold winter. Last year, my usual overnight charge took way longer than expected on a few really frigid nights, and I’m worried my Level 2 charger isn’t delivering its full rate when the battery is ice cold.

I have seen the same thing on very cold nights the charger starts at a higher rate then slows once the pack is ice cold and it makes the overnight charge feel longer

I started preconditioning the battery with the car app before plugging in and it shaved a bit of time off the early phase

I checked the outlet and the cord too even on a dedicated 240V circuit with a good cable the slow start showed up when it was below freezing

Do you have a data log from the charger or car If you can pull a record of the kW over time you will see if it is a real rate drop or just how it ramps after the battery warms

Sometimes I wonder if the real issue is the garage insulation or the temperature inside the wall cavity not the charger itself

On nights under about minus five C mine would read around seven kW for a while then creep up closer to the usual eleven kW as the pack warmed

I feel like I am chasing a symptom not a problem but its hard to tell the car acts different in the cold and I am left guessing
