How can I tell if spatial audio is working on my wireless earbuds?
#1
I just got the new wireless earbuds with the spatial audio feature, and honestly, I can't tell if it's working right. Sometimes the sound seems to come from slightly outside my head, but other times it just feels like regular stereo. Is there a specific type of content I should be testing it with to really notice the difference?

Try content that is actually encoded for spatial audio like big budget movies or games that advertise 3D sound. Also double check that spatial audio is enabled on your device and that the earbuds' firmware is up to date. When a scene has something moving across the screen, you should hear the sound shift from left to right and even bounce a bit behind you.

I did a test with a sci fi trailer and a voice moved across my headphones, but sometimes I just got regular stereo and nothing felt 'around' me. It can be subtle and depend on the track.

Do you have a specific app or video where it seems most noticeable?

I once tried a binaural music track and it did little, then I realized I had the volume set lower and the seal around my ears mattered too. Might be worth checking fit and volume together.
