How can smart lighting respond reliably to voice commands?

I’ve been trying to get my smart lighting to work with my voice assistant for basic morning routines, but the commands keep failing half the time. I’m not sure if it’s a device compatibility issue, a weak network signal, or just my phrasing.

I ran into this too. I moved the smart bridge closer to the router and did a firmware update. After that the commands started sticking a bit more, though it still hiccups when the WiFi is busy.

Do you think the real issue is the routine engine or the phrasing? Sometimes it feels like the lights are fine but the voice side drops the command.

I noticed that when I queue a command to a whole group of lights it sometimes fails, but turning on a single lamp at a time works reliably. So I drifted to addressing one device at a time.

On mornings where everything goes wrong I just grab the phone and test the app directly, and the gap between app command and voice is where I see the most delay.
