How can you read a sandman absolute edition without risking damage?

I just got the Absolute Edition of *The Sandman* and the paper quality is incredible, but I’m honestly worried about damaging it while reading. How do you all handle these massive, beautiful editions? I find myself almost not wanting to open it.

I get the anxious feeling too. I read it on a big coffee table with a soft felt pad underneath, and I go slow so the spine doesn't protest. It helps to just tip the pages and not yank them open.

I started with the digital edition for the early chapters, just to ease into it, and then went back to the print once I relaxed. It saved my nerves for a while.

Mine sits in a neutral light spot, not sun, not a heat vent. I keep a microfiber cloth nearby to wipe dust, and I try not to leave it open for long stretches.
