How concerned should i be about bradycardia from beta blockers and pvcs?
#1
I’ve been on a low-dose beta blocker for a few months for PVC management, and my resting heart rate has settled into the low 50s. My cardiologist isn’t concerned, but I feel a bit sluggish and lightheaded sometimes when I stand up quickly. Has anyone else experienced this kind of persistent bradycardia while on this type of medication?

Yeah, I get that. I landed in the low 50s on a light beta blocker and felt a bit like bradycardia when I stood up fast.

I kept a tiny diary for a couple weeks and noticed the sluggishness was better when I hydrated and stood up more slowly.

My cardiologist did an ECG and a short Holter and wasn’t alarmed; said some people just run a lower resting rate on a low dose and can tolerate it.

Could the real issue be something else like dehydration or a simple blood pressure drop?

I played with the timing of the dose and with little changes in activity, and the difference was inconsistent but I felt a bit steadier on days I moved more slowly.

If it keeps happening, I’d push to be checked again, even if they don’t sound worried.
