How do i adjust my saddle height to stop hip rocking?
#1
I’ve been trying to dial in my riding position and I think my saddle might be a touch too high. I get a slight rocking in my hips near the bottom of the pedal stroke, and it’s starting to cause some discomfort in my lower back after about an hour in the saddle.

I’m in the same boat last week. That little hip rocking near the bottom of the pedal stroke made me doubt everything. I tried lowering the saddle by a few millimeters and it did dull the wobble a bit, and my lower back stress dropped to 'meh' after an hour instead of 'ow'.

I also fiddled with the saddle tilt a hair and a tad more fore-aft. Felt odd at first—like I was perched too far back—but after a short ride my hips settled. Not a clean fix, though, more like dialing a radio.

I keep thinking maybe it isn’t the height at all. Maybe the back stiffness or my core is the real limiter, but every ride ends up with that tired lower back near hour two.

Do you ride with your feet parallel to the ground or with some toe-in? Have you checked your hip mobility?
