How do I beat Shadows of Yharnam in Forbidden Woods without getting overwhelmed?

I just hit the Forbidden Woods in my first playthrough and I’m completely stuck on the Shadows of Yharnam. I’ve gotten their patterns down mostly, but that last phase where the giant snakes come out of the ground always catches me off guard and I get overwhelmed. I’m wondering if I should be trying to burst one down faster or if my weapon upgrade level is just too low for this area.

That phase is brutal. I tried bursting one snake down and it just pulled the other two in and I ate crowd control. The snakes pop up fast and the hitbox feels unfair. Upgrading helped a little, but mostly it came down to learning the tells and not over committing.

I did a few runs at higher upgrades and still felt squeezed. DPS helps but I swear the rhythm is what saved me: wait for a burrow, dodge, then poke when the ground clears. Not flashy, but quieter fights.

Is it possible the real problem isn’t the snakes at all but how you’re positioning? I caught myself getting blindsided when I tried to stay too tight on the boss. Slower circling and paying attention to the camera helped me dodge more reliably.

I remember one night I rushed the whole thing and wasted stamina. Then I started soaking the hits and just dodging through the snake phase, hoping for a safe moment to get a hit in. It didn’t feel great, but it worked enough to push through a few times.
