How do I break the cycle of starting strong and losing motivation?
#1
I’ve been trying to make a big change in my life by setting a clear goal for myself, but I keep hitting the same wall. I get the plan all laid out, feel motivated for a week or two, and then my discipline just evaporates. Has anyone else managed to push through that cycle and actually make a lasting personal change? I’m starting to wonder if my approach is wrong or if I’m just expecting too much too soon.

I’ve been there. I hammered out a big goal, a tight plan, and felt dialed in for a while, then the energy just faded. I kept asking what was wrong, and it kept circling back to the plan feeling brittle in real life.

I keep wondering if the real issue is that it doesn’t fit how a normal week actually goes. Is it possible the problem isn’t lack of willpower but alignment with daily life?

I tried tiny steps and kept a simple log ten minutes a day, then fifteen on mornings I woke up early. Sometimes I hit it, sometimes I forget, and the pattern showed up in the numbers.

There was a stretch where I paused the big push and did something completely different for a couple of weeks, then came back with looser expectations. The vibe changed more than the plan.
